Chicken n Alcohol For Fuel 🍗🥃
This week, we got Twitter back, Tesla is breaking records, Chickens come out of plants, and alcohol is the new fuel.
Move aside Chickens 🐔 , there’s some new “Chicken” in town! 🍗
First of all, check out the colour of that bucket. Remind you of something? 🇳🇬😏
KFC restaurants in the US added Beyond Meat’s plant-based chicken to their menus, starting from this Monday.
The launch comes after years of testing from Yum Brands (KFC'S parent company) and Beyond Meat (BYND) to create a meat substitute that mimicked the taste and texture of whole muscle chicken, like chicken breast, rather than the ground-up consistency of nuggets. We're talking about chicken that's not exactly....chicken? 🤯
The two companies first tested plant-based chicken at an Atlanta restaurant in August 2019 — and sold out their limited supply in less than five hours. KFC then tested the new item in Nashville, TN & Charlotte, NC two years ago.
Me, when I get my hands on that chicken (or beyond chicken 🤷♂️):
Tesla is KING
My people, I hate to admit this but it looks like no one else does it better than Tesla. They are smashing every sales record possible. Seriously, Tesla sales make other electric car manufacturers look like babies....well, maybe they are😏😏
Tesla is winning comfortability at home and away, let me give you some context, NIO delivered 91,429 vehicles in 2021 in total, XPeng reached just 137,953 cumulative deliveries, Tesla sold a record 70,847 China-made vehicles in December ALONE🤯🤯🤯 Tesla's vehicle deliveries in China in 2021 exceeded 320,000 (compared to nearly 140,000 in 2020). Omoooo…Elon no dey play for here!
If you think that's mouth-watering, get this; According to Tesla investor reports, Tesla has sold 1,917,450 electric vehicles to date!
Interestingly, 32% of all Teslas sold since 2016 were sold in 2021.
At this point, if you no be Tesla investor, you fit like to hide your face. At the rate of growth, investors like me [clearing my throat] will keep smiling every time I open my Trove
As Elon says;
One day, Planes could run on tequila!
After reading that title, you’d probably think Tomi himself is still running on tequila from detty december, but nope. Ladies and gentlemen this is the future. A world where alcohol is good for more than just TGIFridays.
Tech giant, Microsoft is investing $50 million dollars in Chicago clean-tech start-up, Lanzajet. Clearly, this January sapa is not touching all of us 😞
The investment is set toward building a sustainable aviation fuel biorefinery in Georgia which could produce renewable aviation fuel. Lanzajet plans to start producing 10 million gallons of sustainable aviation fuel per year.
The aviation fuel will be made from ethanol (a form of alcohol). This is a significant development because the aviation industry is considered one of the toughest to decarbonize.
I already have the Jet fuel of the future 🍸, all that’s left is to buy Jet then none of y’all can talk to me. 😎
Twitter is back in Naija!
We know y'all heard about this but let's have a closer look, shall we?
Twitter reportedly agreed to quite a few conditions before ending the 7-month ban. According to the BBC, the Nigerian government insisted that Twitter:
Register in Nigeria,
Appoint a designated country representative,
Comply with tax obligations in Nigeria,
Enrol Nigeria in its portal for direct communications between government officials and Twitter to manage prohibited content that violates Twitter community rules,
Act with a respectful acknowledgement of Nigerian laws
Twitter has not officially commented on what it has done to be allowed to work in Nigeria again but tweeted that it was "pleased" to be restored in the country and was "deeply committed to Nigeria". Sounds like a good start 🤷♂️
Nigerians, before & after the ban:
